PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has launched the provincial government’s initiative “Solarization of Houses”.
A total of 32,500 households will get free solar units in the first phase, under the first category, an official statement said on Saturday. “These units include solar panels, batteries, fans, lights and other essential accessories.”
The beneficiaries were selected through an e-balloting process. According to the government, the project received a “tremendous response”, with more than 2.538 million online applications being allocated for solar systems.
The total estimated cost of the Solarization of Houses project is Rs20 billion.
