CM Maryam approves order for construction of two women jails

LAHORE: CM Maryam chaired a meeting in Lahore, the chief minister had given principal approval for the establishment of women’s jails in Faisalabad and Rawalpindi.

She had directed that new jails be constructed outside city limits.

CM Nawaz had also ordered the revamping of lockups and Bakshi Khana across Punjab, and the project had received formal approval.

During the meeting, there was concern expressed over the potential external connections of criminals within jails, leading to a directive to ensure foolproof cyber security measures in prisons.

Separately, the leader of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), Aun Chaudhary called on the Punjab CM Wednesday in which ongoing development projects and political issues in Lahore were discussed.
