RAWALPINDI: Security forces have successfully neutralized 29 terrorists in the past month during several operations along the Pakistan-Afghansiotan border and in the Zhob District of Balochistan, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to the military’s media wing, recently, Pakistan has witnessed a surge in terrorist incidents orchestrated from Afghan soil, wherein, terrorists from Afghanistan attempt to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan Border and target Security Forces as well as innocent civilians.
In this context, in addition to other areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Security Forces have been conducting operations in the general area of Sambaza in the Zhob District of Balochistan, since 21 April 2024, the statement reads.
Furthermore, the statement said, In the same series of operations, during an intelligence-based operation on 14 May 2024, Maj Babar Khan also embraced Shahadat, while fighting gallantly.

Pakistan’s Security Forces are determined and remain committed to securing the borders and ensuring the safety of its citizens against the scourge of terrorism, it said.
Moreover, military’s media wing said Pakistan has consistently been asking the Interim Afghan Government to ensure effective border management on their side of the border. Interim Afghan Government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan Soil by terrorists for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan, the statement concluded.
Earlier in May, Director General ISPR Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that there is “irrefutable evidence” of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) using Afghanistan against the country.
