LAHORE: The Punjab government has launched a bike program for students, offering 20,000 bikes on easy installments.
Launched under the Chief Minister’s Youth Initiative, the initiative includes 19,000 gasoline bikes and 1,000 e-bikes. Under the scheme, the government will cover markup subsidies and down payments.
The motorcycle scheme requires a down payment of Rs 20,000 and will have easy monthly installments for two years. Male students will have to pay Rs 11,676 and female students will have to pay Rs 7,325 per month.
Students from Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore will get the bikes first, as public and private university students can apply online until April 29 if they are over 18 years of age and have a driving license or learner’s license.
