CM Punjab laptop scheme: Students to get laptops after Ramadan 2025

LAHORE: Students are excited about the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025, especially since high-performance Core i7 laptops will soon be distributed.

According to official sources, the Chief Minister will personally supervise the entire laptop distribution procedure, which is expected to start after Ramadan 2025.

Earlier, The Punjab government announced the eligibility criteria for the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025 for the students of the province.

The launch and merit criteria of the laptop scheme were discussed during a high-level review meeting, presided over by Provincial Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat.

Under the laptop scheme, students will get Core i7 and 13th-generation laptops, which will support students in their academic and research endeavors.

During the review meeting, the education minister directed to expedite the process and sought final dates for the web portal launch, application scrutiny, and merit list announcement.

Rana Sikandar Hayat also instructed the immediate completion of the online application portal.

Merit Criteria for the Punjab Laptop Scheme

As per details, laptops will be distributed to first and second-semester students in the first phase.

The merit criteria have been set at a minimum of 65 percent for BS students and 80 percent for medical students, based on their intermediate examination marks.

Eligibility criteria for the laptop scheme

The eligibility criteria for getting the laptop under the Punjab government’s scheme include:

  • Must be domiciled in any district of Punjab.
  • Applicant’s age should not exceed 22 years as of the last date.
  • Family monthly income should be less than Rs 300,000 (Affidavit will be required).
  • The applicant must be enrolled in the selected subjects in the selected universities and colleges in Fall Session 2024.

The selection of students for the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme will be based on the following factors:

  • Academic Performance: Students with higher marks and GPAs will be prioritized.
  • Written Exam: Some students may be required to pass an online written exam.
  • Document Verification: All submitted documents will be verified by the Punjab Higher Education Commission.
