LAHORE: The Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has issued orders for foolproof security arrangements on Chaand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr.
To ensure the safety of citizens, especially women and children, CM Maryam has directed the increase of patrols by the women police squad in markets on the eve of Eid.
Additional personnel have been deployed at 65 commercial centers in Lahore, and drone cameras and night vision binoculars have been introduced for surveillance in markets.
To prevent one-wheeling on roads, police have been deployed at 55 locations, while 225 locations around ATMs and banks have been secured to ensure citizens’ safety.
CM Maryam has also ordered close monitoring of anti-social elements in markets during Eid. Furthermore, a women police squad was launched last week to protect women shoppers from harassment and criminal activities.
The squad is operational in major cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad, and has begun patrolling markets and commercial areas.
