COAS Gen Asim Munir honours Army officers & soldiers for gallantry and Service

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has conferred military awards on officers and men of the Pakistan Army in recognition of their exceptional bravery in operations and distinguished services to the nation.

The awards were presented at an investiture ceremony held at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior military officials and families of the awardees.

The decorations conferred include Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-e-Bisalat. The medals were received posthumously by the families of the martyrs with honors.

The Pakistan Army chief, while paying tribute to the martyrs and ex-servicemen, said: “Martyrs and Ghazis are our eternal pride, their honor and respect is a sacred trust for every Pakistani. The peace and freedom we cherish today is the result of the eternal sacrifices of these brave sons of this land.”

The COAS also deeply appreciated the resilience and fortitude of the families of the martyrs while acknowledging their unparalleled sacrifices for the country.

Appreciating the unwavering resolve of the Pakistan Army and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), General Asim Munir appreciated their tireless efforts in thwarting multiple terrorist threats and eliminating high profile terrorists during ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
