Diploma-holding plumber promoted to Grade-18 officer at NICVD

KARACHI: A controversial decision has taken place at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), where a plumber, Mustafa Hassan, has been appointed an administrator despite his lack of the required qualifications.

A mere maintenance worker, Hassan holds a diploma but has now been given an upgrade to become an officer in Grade 18, a position requiring an MBA in administration.

It has raised concerns between the public regarding the merit and transparency of key administrative roles at the NICVD. Adding to the controversy, his appointment appears in violation of norm rules.

The appointment appears to violate standard regulations, adding to the controversy.
