ISTANBUL: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with the Turkish President in Istanbul along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, here on Saturday.
According to the Turkish Presidency, the meeting discussed the latest situation in the region and the Iran-Israel war and agreed to continue diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir arrived in Turkey after his US visit where he met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan along with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to the Turkish Presidency, the meeting took place during the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The latest situation in the region and the Iran-Israel war were discussed in detail during the meeting.
During the meeting, the leaders strongly condemned the Israeli aggression on Iran and agreed to continue diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions between Iran and Israel.
During the meeting, the commitment to further expand Pakistan-Turkey relations was reiterated.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar conveyed the good wishes of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the Turkish President and said that Pakistan attaches importance to relations with Turkey.
The meeting was also attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Ibrahim Kalin and the President’s Senior Advisor on Foreign Affairs and Security.
