QUETTA: Tension has arisen between the Balochistan government and young doctors after the Dr. Mahnoor acid attack case. Young doctors went on strike in government hospitals against the incident, on which the government took strict action and suspended 23 doctors.
According to the Balochistan Health Department, show-cause notices have also been issued to 25 doctors participating in the strike. In addition, the training of 4 postgraduate students who were part of the protest has also been suspended.
The Balochistan Health Department has formally issued suspension notifications and show-cause notices. On the other hand, young doctors are continuing to protest against the acid attack incident on Dr. Mah Noor.
There is a fear that the differences between the government and young doctors will deepen further due to the incident and the administrative actions that followed. Analysts say the government should try to negotiate and build trust with the young doctors before suspending them. And the real focus should be on a transparent investigation into the Dr. Mah Noor case and bringing the accused to justice, as this is the point on which both sides should agree.
