Earthquake jolts Swat & adjoining areas

Islamabad: An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit Swat and adjoining areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa on Tuesday.

National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC) confirmed that earthquake was felt in Swat and other surrounding areas. The depth of the quake was recorded 190 kilometres and its epicentre was in the Hindukush range in Afghanistan.

Tremors were felt in several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday. Local residents came out of their houses in fear by reciting Islamic versies while no loss was reported as per initial reports.
