UBAURO: At least eight people were killed and seven others injured in a bus-truck collision on the Sukkur-Multan motorway near Malook Wali village in Ubauro, Ghotki District in the wee hours of Monday.
According to the details, a passenger bus going to Karachi from Mansehra collided with a trailer at the Motorway M5, killing eight people including women and children on the spot and injuring seven others.
Rescue officials said that four injured were in critical condition, adding that the deceased were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.
As per the initial information, Noor Elahi, Shagufta, Rozina, Uneeba, and Hasnat were among the dead, whose bodies were kept at the hospital. Meanwhile, the heirs were not present with the deceased, the police added.
In another incident on Sunday, a bus plunged into a ditch near the Sangao area of Mardan, killing four people and injuring nine others.
According to rescue officials, the bus was going from Buner to Katlang when it fell into a ravine, as a result of which two people died on the spot. Eleven people were injured in the accident, while two of them later succumbed to their injuries, taking the death toll to four.
