ISLAMABAD: If the moon is sighted on May 17, then Dhul-Hijjah will begin on May 18 and Eid-ul-Adha can be celebrated from May 27 to 29.
After the sighting of the Dhul-Qaida moon, the Islamic month has begun on April 19, 2026, after which the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting for the sighting of the Dhul-Hijjah moon is expected on May 17, 2026.
If the moon is not sighted and the month is 30 days long, then Eid is likely to be from May 28 to 30.
According to the official calendar, Eid al-Adha holidays are expected from May 27 to 29 (Wednesday to Friday).
If these holidays are combined with Saturday and Sunday (May 30 and 31), citizens can get a long holiday of five days, while if the holidays start a day earlier, this interval can be extended to six days.
If Dhul-Hijjah starts on May 19, then the Eid holidays will be from May 28 to 30 (Thursday to Saturday), which can be combined with the Sunday holiday to form a long weekend.
