ISLAMABAD: There is speculation on social media about the closure of private and public schools in the federal capital on Sep 9, Monday amid the PTI jalsa staged in Sangjani which led to the closure of multiple roads in Islamabad today.

A notification circulating on social media platforms claiming the district administration has announced a holiday in the capital city tomorrow September 9, 2024, turned out to be fake.

Fact check

Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training spokesperson has confirmed that the schools of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) will resume classes tomorrow as per normal routine.

However, many private schools in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi including the Beaconhouse School have announced a holiday tomorrow at their own will.

Moreover, several thoroughfares in Islamabad and Rawalpindi are open including the Expressway at Khanna Pul, Lethrar Road, BaraKahu, and Tramri Chowk. Islamabad Expressway towards Rawat at Faizabad and Faizabad bridge is also operational.

Until morning tomorrow, all roads of the federal capital will be clear with containers and open for all kinds of traffic.
