ISLAMABAD: An audit report has revealed that 99 employees were posted illegally in Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) during 2022-23.

According to the results, the authorities ignored provincial and regional quotas.

The report said the appointments were made without following necessary procedures, including a public advertisement, which is mandatory as per the guidelines of the Establishment Division.

Further, the test-based merit lists were not shown to the auditors and the test papers of the candidates were not provided for review.

The report further highlighted that the basic eligibility criteria were not followed before conducting the screening test and the appointments were not made on the recommendations of the selection board.

As a result, appointments specifically to Grade 19 to Grade 9 posts have been declared illegal. Till the filing of this report, no official response has been given by the university administration regarding the audit findings.
