The federal minister has told reporters that the process of “rightsizing of 43 ministries and their 400 attached departments will be completed by the end of this fiscal year” to reduce expenditures and enhance the government’s efficiency.

In phase one, six ministries including Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), IT and Telecom, Industries and Production, National Health Services, and Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) were processed.

The Ministries of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan and States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) have been merged, whereas, CADD has been abolished.
