Federal, state ministers’ salaries hiked by over 140 per cent

ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday issued an ordinance under which the salaries of federal ministers and ministers of state were increased by more than 140 percent.

The salaries of federal ministers were increased from Rs 218,000 to Rs 519,000.

The salary increase will be effective from January 1, 2025.

After hearing this news, the ministers were overjoyed as their salaries had been brought at par with those of members of parliament (MPs).

While thanking Allah Almighty, the ministers said that they also want the salaries of the staff working under them to increase.
