ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the director of the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Counter Terrorism Wing, Islamabad, Hamayun Sindhu, has been removed from his post amid some serious allegations.

According to the sources, Hamayun has been accused of harassing and raping a subordinate woman. In an official notification issued by  FIA’s Director-General has directed to remove Sindhu from his position immediately

Additionally, Director Interpol Sikandar Hayat has been given the charge of the wing, notification stated.

The victim has filed a complaint with the Federal Ombudsman, stating that she was physically assaulted by the director of FIA on multiple occasions.

She alleged that Sindhu used to share immoral videos on her WhatsApp number, and she was under pressure due to being his subordinate. The situation took a turn for the worse when Sindhu, with the help of his friend, conditionally married her.

However, he has since divorced her but never provided her with a copy of the marriage certificate. Despite the divorce, Sindhu continued to subject her to violence multiple times.

The FIA has reported that Sindhu misused his powers for personal interests, which ultimately led to his removal from office. This incident highlights the importance of addressing harassment and abuse of power in the workplace.

It’s unacceptable for someone in a position of authority to misuse their power and exploit their subordinates. The FIA’s decision to remove Sindhu from his post is a step in the right direction, and it’s essential to ensure that those responsible for such heinous acts are held accountable.
