DERA ISMAIL KHAN: In a breakthrough operation, the FIA Cyber Crime Circle in Dera Ismail Khan apprehended a suspect accused of blackmailing minor children and their families using indecent videos.
Muhammad Kashif Karim, the accused, would befriend children on Facebook posing as a girl, coerce them into inappropriate acts, and record the incidents.
The FIA acted on a written complaint, recovering a mobile device containing numerous indecent videos of children during the raid. This arrest follows a similar case in Abbottabad, where the FIA apprehended Muhammad Miskeen in September for sexually assaulting children, recording the acts, and blackmailing them.
Nearly 500 indecent videos were recovered during the operation, prompted by a confidential report from an international rights organization.
Both cases are part of a broader crackdown on cybercrimes initiated by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi. The FIA’s swift action demonstrates its commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals, particularly children, from online exploitation.
The operations highlight the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious activities to authorities.
