Football match turns deadly as teen killed

LAHORE: A 19-year-old youth was killed in an altercation during a football match in Muslim Town. The police have registered a case and started searching for the accused.

According to details, a 19-year-old youth lost his life due to brutal violence by opponents over a minor dispute during a football match in the Muslim Town area of ​​the provincial capital.

The police have registered a case on the complaint of the victim’s father, however, the named accused managed to get bail from the court to avoid arrest.

Police officials said that the 19-year-old victim, Ryan Yaqoob, was playing football with his friends on the ground when a heated argument broke out over a minor matter during the game. This altercation quickly escalated into a serious situation, after which the opposing boys indiscriminately attacked Ryan.

The five people involved in the attack hit the victim Ryan Yaqoob with spiked boots, punches and kicks, resulting in him being seriously injured. The accused managed to escape from the scene after bleeding Ryan, but the young man was immediately rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.

After the incident, a formal case has been registered under the provisions of murder at the Muslim Town police station on the complaint of the victim’s father, Muhammad Yaqoob.

Police say that after the FIR was registered, the accused have obtained interim bail from the court to avoid arrest, however, the police have expanded the scope of the investigation on scientific and legal grounds of the incident.
