Four dead as bus falls into ravine in Mardan, KP

ISLAMABAD: In a tragic incident near Sangao area of ​​Mardan on Sunday, a bus plunged into a ditch, killing four people and injuring nine others.

According to rescue sources, the bus was going from Buner to Katlang when it fell into a ditch, as a result of which two people died on the spot.

Eleven people were injured in the accident, while two of them later succumbed to their injuries, taking the death toll to four. Rescue operations are going on, the injured are being given medical aid in the nearby hospital.

Earlier, at least 13 people, mostly women and children, were killed and 4 injured when a passenger jeep fell into the Neelum river in the upper belt of the Neelum valley.

The accident took place around 11 am when a jeep skidded off the highway and plunged into Neelam River. The dead include four women and three children.

As soon as the incident was reported, the rescue personnel reached the accident site and started rescue operations.

The rescue teams shifted the bodies to the mortuary for legal proceedings and the injured to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
