SANGHAR: In a recent development, three Hindu siblings and their one male cousin embraced Islam without any force. A Shahdadpur court on Friday handed over two newly converted Muslims to their Hindu families and permitted two others to stay in a shelter home, after all four asserted they had voluntarily converted to Islam without coercion.
Additional and Sessions Judge، Aijaz Ali Chandio conducted the case regarding the abduction and forced conversion of three Hindu sisters and their male cousin.
The lawyer of the parents contended in court that police had recovered the four siblings from Karachi, who were allegedly abducted from Shahdadpur and forcibly converted into Islam.
Police brought the three sisters and their cousin in front of the court. Their parents and the head of the Hindu Panchayat, Rajesh Kumar Hardasani, also appeared.
But all four of them – Jiya Bai, Diya Bai, Disha Bai, and Harjeet Kumar- deposed that they had converted to Islam voluntarily in 2024, and not by force.
On hearing the arguments, the judge allowed two girls, Jiya Bai and Diya Bai, who were medical students, to remain at a shelter home in Karachi. The court directed, meanwhile, that the two minors 15-year-old matric student, Disha Bai, and her 13-year-old cousin, Harjeet Kumar, be handed over to their parents.
Following the statements of the girls, the court also acquitted two accused, Zulfiqar Khaskheli and Farhan, of charges of kidnapping.
