ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a new immigration policy, which aims to reaffirm the national commitment to every Pakistani going abroad.
According to the details, the federal government has issued the National Immigration Policy 2026, which aims to promote safe, orderly, and dignified migration for Pakistanis going abroad, increase the skills of the workforce, and ensure protection of the rights of immigrants.
Announcing the new policy in Islamabad, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that this policy is a renewal of the national commitment to every Pakistani going abroad.
The federal minister said that the global labor market is changing rapidly and there is fierce competition for skilled labor worldwide, so Pakistan will also have to make its workforce compatible with the requirements of the future.
He said that the new policy will play an important role in preparing the Pakistani workforce according to global standards.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain said that currently 12 million Pakistanis are living in different countries of the world, who are not only ambassadors of Pakistan but also playing an important role in the country’s economy.
He said that overseas Pakistanis sent a record remittance of more than $41 billion in the last fiscal year, which is very important for the national economy.
The federal minister expressed his determination that the government will effectively implement the policy to ensure the protection of the rights of overseas Pakistanis, the preparation of a skilled workforce, and the full utilization of global employment opportunities.
