PESHAWAR: Great news for government employees: a 7% increase in pension will be effective from 1st July 2026.
According to the details, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken an important decision for the provincial government pensioners and has approved a 7% increase in the net pension, for which a formal notification has also been issued.
The government announcement said that the 7 percent increase in pension will come into effect from July 1, 2026, and all provincial government pensioners will be able to benefit from it.
In the notification issued by the Finance Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the important points and conditions regarding the increase in pension have been clarified.
In this notification, it is said that this 7% increase will be given based on net pension earned till June 30, 2026, and government employees retiring on or after July 1, 2026, will also be entitled to this 7% increase.
This increase will be equally applicable in the cases of family pension and compensatory allowance.
Apart from this, the eligible pensioners of the provincial government residing abroad will also be able to benefit from this increase under the prescribed terms and conditions.
The notification clarified that this 7% increase will not apply to any “Special Additional Pension” already received.
This initiative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is being considered a big relief for lakhs of retired employees of the province and their families in the current economic situation.
