Karachi: In a gesture of reverence and respect towards the revered saint, Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, the district administration has announced a public holiday on February 29th. This decision comes in conjunction with the commencement of the three-day Annual Urs celebrations, marking the 772nd anniversary of the saint’s spiritual journey.
The Urs festivities, set to begin on February 29th, promise three days filled with cultural and spiritual richness. Among the highlights are a literary conference, showcasing the profound literary heritage of the region, traditional Sindhi wrestling Malakhro, symbolizing the strength and resilience of the community, and soul-stirring Sufi music recitals, echoing the timeless wisdom of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
With the safety and security of all attendees in mind, the local administration has implemented stringent security measures, ensuring a peaceful and harmonious environment for devotees and visitors alike. Additionally, facilitation camps have been established in Sehwan to cater to the needs of devotees, providing essential amenities and services to the guests of the shrine.

In a demonstration of solidarity and reverence, Caretaker Sindh Minister for Law and Auqaf Umer Soomro, accompanied by former Caretaker Sindh Minister Iftekhar Ahmed Soomro, paid a visit to the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar to oversee the preparations for the Urs celebrations. During the visit, the Caretaker Law Minister laid a floral wreath at the shrine, offering prayers for the development and prosperity of the country and the province of Sindh.
