Govt announces public holiday on May 28

KARACHI: The Sindh government has declared a public holiday on Wednesday, May 28, on the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer.

All provincial government offices, including local councils and municipal bodies, will remain closed on that day.

The Sindh government issued a notification in this regard.

Youm-e-Takbeer is celebrated in Pakistan every year on May 28 to commemorate the country’s successful nuclear tests in 1998.

Special events, speeches and ceremonies will be held in honor of scientists, soldiers and leaders involved in the nuclear program.

TV channels air documentaries, special programs and talk shows highlighting the importance of this day.
