RAWALPINDI: Pakistani security forces have successfully eliminated 12 Indian-sponsored terrorists in multiple Intelligence Based Operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
From May 17 to 18, nine terrorists affiliated with the banned outfit Fitna-ul-Khawarij, an Indian proxy, were killed during operations in Lakki Marwat, Bannu and North Waziristan.
In Lakki Marwat, five terrorists were killed after security forces launched an IBO based on credible intelligence. Two more terrorists were killed in another successful operation in Bannu district.
Meanwhile, terrorists ambushed a security forces convoy in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan. The troops retaliated effectively, killing two attackers. However, during the intense exchange of fire, two soldiers, 29-year-old Sepoy Farhad Ali Turi, a resident of Kurram district, and 32-year-old Lance Naik Sabir Afridi, a resident of Kohat district, were martyred.
Security forces have launched a clearance operation to ensure complete elimination of the remaining terrorists in the area.
According to an ISPR news release, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Gashkoor area of Awaran district following information about the presence of Indian-sponsored terrorists.
During the operation, the troops effectively located the terrorists’ hideout and after a fierce exchange of fire, Indian-sponsored terrorist Younis was killed, while two Indian-sponsored terrorists were injured.
In another engagement in Turbat city, Kech district, security forces successfully neutralized two Indian-sponsored terrorists: terrorist ringleader Sabirullah and terrorist Amjad alias Bicho.
Arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the slain Indian-sponsored terrorists, who were involved in several terrorist activities against law enforcement agencies as well as targeted killings of innocent civilians.
Clean-up operations are being carried out to eliminate any terrorists present in the area, as Pakistan’s security forces, together with the nation, are determined to thwart the efforts of Indian proxies to sabotage the peace, stability and development of Balochistan.
