Govt announces public holiday on THIS date

HYDERABAD: The Sindh government has announced August 9 (Saturday) as a public holiday throughout the region on the occasion of the 282nd annual Urs of renowned Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.

Three-day Urs festivities will begin on Saturday, said Sindh Secretary for Culture Muhammad Khan Kloro. He assured that everything is in place, with the majority of arrangements already finalized, to make the spiritual and cultural festival a success.

Culture Minister officially invited Sindh Governor to open Urs festivities, which are likely to draw thousands of devotees, scholars, and Bhittai admirers from all over Pakistan.
