ISLAMABAD: The federal government has taken another step towards increasing electricity prices, under which a request has been filed for an increase of 26 paise per unit in the form of fuel price adjustment.

This request was submitted to NEPRA by the Central Power Purchasing Agency, on which NEPRA has scheduled a hearing. According to sources, this request will be heard on April 28, during which it will be decided whether to increase the price of electricity or not.

If the increase is approved, it will be applied to the bills of May, while consumers will be charged an additional amount on the units of electricity used in March.
