ISLAMABAD: The federal government is all set to initiate a massive citywide survey in Islamabad next week. Termed Safe Secure Islamabad, the new initiative has been planned for improving the security and management of the capital in view of the recent incidents that raised serious questions about the security of the public.
Officials say the survey will be conducted on a door-to-door basis and will cover every house, shop, and office in the city.
The plan has been described as an important step in the building of a full record of residents and properties. Authorities believe that updated information will help them strengthen policing, emergency response, and general civic services.
It includes the details of the number of people residing in each unit, their age, whether rented/owned, whether the space is used for residential or commercial purposes, etc. Teams will visit homes and commercial units to gather basic details about residents.
Households that would want to submit their information online will be provided with an opportunity through a mobile application called the ICT Household Survey. Properties not providing the data required may be marked for follow-up visits.
