ISLAMABAD: The government has announced the release of a new installment before Eid-ul-Azha, giving great good news to millions of families benefiting from the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

According to sources, the new financial assistance payments of the Benazir Income Support Program will start from May 18, 2026.

Officials say that the government is trying to ensure that deserving and low-income families get their financial assistance before Eid so that they can celebrate Eid with their families and fulfill other needs including sacrifice.

According to sources, in this phase, payments will be made to registered and eligible families across the country, while the biometric verification process will also continue to ensure transparency.

Beneficiaries have been instructed to keep their registration and identity documents complete so that they do not face any problems during the payment.

According to BISP officials, special arrangements are being made at payment centers, banking partners and campsites to facilitate women and the elderly. In addition, beneficiaries will also be informed about the payment through mobile messages.

Citizens say that the provision of financial assistance before Eid will provide temporary relief to poor families under the pressure of inflation. Public circles have welcomed this move of the government and expressed hope that the relief funds will be distributed in a timely and transparent manner.
