KARACHI: A Gwadar-bound flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) returns to the Karachi Airport due to a technical fault minutes after taking off.
According to a PIA spokesperson, flight PK-503 en route to Gwadar made an emergency landing after departing from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport at 8:13 am.
The flight experienced a technical fault in the plane’s engine. The pilot informed the air traffic controller about the malfunction in the aircraft.
The ATR 42 aircraft was diverted back to Karachi and safely landed 43 minutes after departure.
The plane is being inspected at Karachi Airport, the PIA spokesperson said, adding that the flight will be cleared for take-off after it receives clearance from the engineering department.
