ISLAMABAD: The federal government has formally launched the home delivery service of passports for the convenience of citizens, after which applicants will not have to visit offices to receive their passports.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has launched this service in collaboration with private courier company TCS.

Under the new system, citizens will be able to choose the option of home delivery through courier service while submitting their passport application, after which the finished passport will be delivered directly to their given address.

This important project was announced during a meeting between Director General Immigration and Passports Muhammad Ali Randhawa and TCS Chief Executive Officer Hassan Raza Leghari at the headquarters.

Under the agreement, TCS has been appointed as the official service partner of the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports.

According to officials, the aim of this service is to provide passports to citizens in a fast, safe and easy way so that the public also saves time and gets rid of unnecessary waiting in offices.

Officials say that the passport home delivery service is part of the vision of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to improve public facilities, under which government services are being made more convenient and modern.

It should be noted that earlier the government had also announced to make passport offices across the country cashless, now with the launch of the home delivery service, the process of obtaining a passport will become easier for citizens.
