Hunza: PTI-backed independent candidate Neknam Karim joins Peoples Party

HUNZA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-backed independent candidate from Hunza, Neknam Karim, has joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

According to details, Neknam Karim submitted a certificate to the Election Commissioner regarding his new political affiliation, which has been received by the Election Commissioner.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission Gilgit-Baltistan has declared the Istiqlab Pakistan Party (IPP) eligible for reserved seats.

The Election Commission rejected the application filed by the Pakistan Peoples Party and did not accept the request to deprive the IPP of reserved seats. The PPP had taken a stand in its application that the Istiqlab Pakistan Party should not be given reserved seats, however, the Election Commission rejected the application.

According to political observers, significant changes are expected in the political situation of Gilgit-Baltistan after Neknam Karim joined the PPP and the Election Commission’s decision regarding reserved seats.
