ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has introduced ‘Pro-Rita’ billing system to ensure 100% accurate meter reading for the convenience of consumers, here on Monday.

According to an IESCO spokesperson in a recent statement, the Pro-rata system charges customers on a 30-31-day cycle basis.

The spokesperson explained that IESCO continuously monitors to guarantee accurate meter readings through the pro rata system, which synchronizes meter readings with the days of the month.

The pro-rata billing system is designed to directly benefit consumers. During winter, the number of protected consumers increases due to lower power consumption. In summer, the number decreases due to high consumption.

The spokesperson also said that the billing for the batch from June 24 was affected due to the Eid-ul-Adha holiday, but adjustments were made to cover a period of less than 30 days to avoid inconvenience to consumers.
