Imran Khan finals Sheikh Waqas for Public Accounts Committee chairmanship

ISLAMABAD: After the consultation with  Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, the party has finalized the name of the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), sources said on Tuesday.

Sources within the party toldaDaily Ausad that the founder PTI has agreed to the name of Sheikh Waqas Akram instead of Sher Afzal Marwat for PAC chairmanship.

Earlier, Imran Khan nominated Sheikh Waqas Akram for the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee.

There was a lot of talk and discussion in PTI in this regard, last day Sher Afzal Marwat had a big press conference and many accusations were made, but now this issue has been resolved.

The party insider said that nine of the 19-member committee headed by Omar Ayub voted for Shaikh Waqas, seven for Sher Afzal Marwat, with Aon Abbas, although present, opted to abstain. Former speaker Asad Qaiser and Marwat were not present during PTI’s political committee meeting in Islamabad on Friday night.
