LAHORE: The Nanbai Association has announced a strike over the matter of roti and naan prices across Punjab from tomorrow.
According to Aftab Gul, the president of the Nanbai Association, there is silence on our demands from the district administration of Lahore. For that, Nanbais has announced to shut down ovens across Punjab from Wednesday
Members of the association have expressed their intent to halt operations of their tandoors throughout Punjab.

They demanded that the price of naan and roti should be revised as the existing prices fail to reflect the economic realities they encounter. Furthermore, the association said that when the government is asking to sell cheap bread, flour should also be provided based on cheap bread.
Last month, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced to fix the price of bread at Rs.16 across the province which received a grieved response from Nanbais. They refused to sell and demanded to fix the new price of bread.
In this regard, the Nanbai association also moved the court against the decrease in roti prices which suspended the notification of revision in bread prices.
