ISLAMABAD: The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has been elevated to division status under the directive of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar. This transformative move, approved through special efforts led by Director General (DG) IB Fawad Asadullah, aims to enhance the administrative and financial efficiency of the agency.

The decision, which comes after thorough deliberation and approval by the caretaker Prime Minister, marks a strategic restructuring aimed at bolstering the operational capacity and effectiveness of the Intelligence Bureau. Following the Prime Minister’s approval, the Cabinet Division swiftly issued orders for the conversion, designating the DG IB as the ex-officio Secretary of the newly established Division.

The implementation of this status change has been immediate, signifying a swift and decisive action towards strengthening the national intelligence infrastructure. With its newfound division status, the Intelligence Bureau is poised to play an even more pivotal role in safeguarding national security and addressing emerging threats.

In a related development, the immigration cell of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) recently apprehended 10 passengers returning to Pakistan for visa forgery. The accused individuals, hailing from Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin, were intercepted upon their arrival at Karachi Airport from Dubai. Among those arrested are Asher Raza, Hasnain Ashraf, Owais Ullah, Mustanasir Iqbal, Ameer Hamza, Zeeshan Azam, Bilal Hassan, Faizan Hassan, Arsalan Afzal, and Ali Hamza.

The elevation of the Intelligence Bureau to division status and the subsequent crackdown on visa forgery highlight the government’s unwavering dedication to bolstering security measures and fostering a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
