ISLAMABAD: A major and important change has come to light regarding the historic peace agreement between the US and Iran. The venue for signing the agreement documents, i.e. the Memorandum of Understanding, between the two countries has suddenly been changed.

According to the British Broadcasting Corporation ‘BBC’, earlier this ceremony was to be held in Geneva, but now it will be held on June 19 in the beautiful and mountainous area of Bergenstock Resort in Switzerland.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry, explaining the reason for this change, has said that this new venue is considered very safe and suitable in terms of security due to its height and difficult routes, so the ceremony has been moved here.

The biggest and most honorable thing about this entire ceremony is that Pakistan will host this historic ceremony.

In this regard, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif will leave for Geneva on Thursday, accompanied by Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and other important federal ministers.

On the other hand, Iran’s parliament speaker and chief negotiator Baqir Qalibaf will arrive in Switzerland to attend the event.

The importance of this event can be gauged from the fact that US President Donald Trump has also indicated his participation in it.

President Trump has said in a statement that he may go there himself to attend the signing ceremony. Along with this, President Trump also announced that he will soon bring all the details of this entire agreement to the world.

Talking about the immediate aftermath of the agreement, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has said that a new round of negotiations between the two countries will begin from Friday itself.

He further elaborated that after the completion of this first phase, detailed negotiations will be held again within the next sixty days for a final and definitive deal, and in these sixty-day negotiations, the Iranian nuclear issue and the complete lifting of all economic sanctions on Iran will be discussed openly.

The positive effects of this peace agreement have also begun to be seen on the ground, and after the removal of obstacles from the sea route, five large Iranian commercial ships have passed through the important Strait of Hormuz route without any hindrance, which is a major beginning for peace in the region.
