Iranian FM to visit Islamabad tonight for 2nd round of peace talks: sources

ISLAMABAD: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad tonight with a small team, according to the government sources.

Second round of Islamabad peace talks between the US and Iran expected as a result of important talks and discussions with the Pakistani mediation team – government sources. The US logistics and security team is also already in Islamabad for the next round.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held telephone conversations with Pakistan’s political and military leadership to discuss the regional situation and ceasefire issues.

According to the Iranian news agency, Abbas Araqchi spoke separately with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

The government has made a big decision. It should be noted that Pakistan is continuously making efforts for a ceasefire between the US and Iran.

On behalf of Pakistan, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Asim Munir are in constant contact with various countries, including the US and Iran.
