ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the district administration of Islamabad has closed two commercial centers in Sector D-17 on Sunday for violating government labor rules.

According to the spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Islamabad Yasir Nazir gave the order for this operation. This development comes after the malls failed to pay their workers the minimum wage of Rs37,000/-per month.

According to a district administration spokesperson, workers at these malls put in 12 to 14 hours a day at their jobs, but their owners only paid them Rs18,000 to Rs20,000 a month, which is significantly less than the minimum wage set by the government.

The owners of these shopping centers denied their workers their monthly leave, and their leave was considered unpaid.
