SP Islamabad attacked, injured by mob harassing women

ISLAMABAD: Superintendent of Police (SP) City Islamabad suffered injuries and was shifted to hospital after being attacked by some persons who were reportedly ‘harassing’ women.

According to details, a mob allegedly harassed a group of women at the restaurant, and after receiving a call from citizens on 15, police reached the scene with SP Khan Zeb leading the team.

While stopping the persons from harassing the women, SP City Khan Zeb was attacked and injured. He was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

According to the Islamabad police, the miscreants also tried to take a cop hostage.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Syed Ali Raza visited the injured SP City in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the police launched an investigation into the incident and are searching for the suspects.
