LAHORE: A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has found former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi guilty in seven cases related to the May 9 riots on Wednesday.

According to the police, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman Qureshi was implicated due to contradictory statements and evidence against him gathered during the investigation.

The incarcerated PTI leader failed to provide satisfactory answer regarding May 9 mayhem, police officials said.

Police sources added that Shah Mahmood Qureshi was found involved in vandalism incidents and it was supported with digital evidence.

The JIT interrogated Imran Khan aide at Adiala Jail and recorded his statement three times, where he was found guilty in all seven cases and police has now filed charge sheet in court.
