Five children fall into open manhole in Karachi, two dies

KARACHI: At least two children died and three were rescued after they fell into an open manhole in the Malir Memon Goth area of Karachi on Wednesday.

According to the details, a total of five children fell in an uncovered manhole in the limits of Memon Goth police station. Three children were rescued safely while two children died, rescue officials said.

Police added that the dead children were identified as 4-year-old Hasnain and 10-year-old Talha. The three children were shifted to the hospital in a state of unconsciousness, officials said.

Police further said that Saqib and Parveer were injured in the unfortunate incident while one child has not been identified yet.
