LAHORE: With tensions escalating following military tensions between Pakistan and India, the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore spokesperson announced on Wednesday that the Intermediate and Matriculation examinations scheduled for today have been postponed.

The BISE spokesperson said that the Islamiat (Elective) and Accounting Theory examinations for Inter Part II and the Computer Science Practical Examination for Matric were scheduled to be held today. However, the examinations could not be held in view of the evolving situation.

The spokesperson added that the new schedule for the postponed examinations would be announced later.

The announcement was made after India launched attacks on several locations in Pakistan following military tensions along the Line of Control.

This came in response to the killing of over two dozen tourists in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a claim that India blames Pakistan for.

Pakistan’s armed forces retaliated, shooting down at least five Indian Air Force (IAF) jets, a drone and destroying a brigade headquarters.
