Student commits suicide at Punjab University Hostel in Lahore

LAHORE: A fifth semester student of the Institute of Education and Research (IER) department allegedly committed suicide in her room in the hostel of Punjab University, here on Sunday.

Umme Habiba, a student living with her sister in room number 74 in hostel number 08 of Punjab University, committed suicide by hanging herself from the fan of her friend’s hostel room number 91.

The hostel warden broke the door of the room and found the girl’s body hanging from the ceiling fan.

After the incident, the authorities were alerted, leading to the arrival of the Lady Police, who began investigating the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
