RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Nauman Zakria NI(M) has been appointed the Mangla corps commander.
According to a local publication, the new appointment on the coveted post came after Lieutenant General Ayman Bilal Safdar reportedly took early retirement.
Lt Gen Inayat Hussain has replaced Lt Gen Zakria in his previous role as Chief of Logistics Services at GHQ.
Apart from that, Maj Gen Omer Bukhari was promoted to a three-star general and was appointed as the commander of the Peshawar-based XI Corps.

DAWN claimed that the new posting became public a day after Commander of United States CENTCOM Gen Michael Kurilla visited several locations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bordering Afghanistan to discuss counterterrorism operations in those regions.
In another development, Chief of Army Chief (COAS) General Asim Munir has promoted three Major Generals including the current DG ISPR Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari, and Major General Inayat Hussain to the rank of Lieutenant General on Friday.
