LAHORE: A major fraud has come to light in Lahore, where a man allegedly used the name of the provincial information minister to dupe people and embezzle Rs1.4 million.
As per the details, an FIR has been registered under sections 408, 504, and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), the complaint was filed by an official of the provincial information ministry.
Burhan Asif allegedly used the name of the provincial minister to dupe others and extort a huge amount of money. He managed to embezzle Rs3.5 million, including Rs1.4 million obtained on the pretext of the minister’s involvement.
Burhan claimed to have connections in the minister’s office, taking advantage of this alleged influence to manipulate his victims. His nefarious actions have caused considerable damage to the reputation of the information ministry.
The police have initiated legal action, efforts are on to arrest the accused and bring him to justice.
