ISLAMABAD: The Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lt. Gen. Nazeer Butt, has approved the constitution of a special prosecution team to pursue appeals in the Al Qadir Trust Case, according to media reports.

The prosecution team consists of five members, with Sardar Muzaffar leading the team in the case.

The prosecution panel also includes Irfan Ahmed, Sohail Arif, Rafi Maqsood, and Yasir Saleem Rana. The team will represent NAB in appeals filed by the former PTI chairman and his wife, Bushra Bibi.

Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had fixed the appeals before the division bench on June 5, upon request from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership.

The bench, in its earlier hearing, issued notices to the NAB  and other relevant petitioners in the case.

The division bench is led by the acting Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Justice Sarfaraz Dogar, with Justice Muhammad Asif in the bench.
