ISLAMABAD: To prevent future legal issues, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has advised all married citizens to amend their marital status in official documents as soon as possible.
Many people have registered their weddings with the Union Council but have not yet changed their marital status in the NADRA database, the authority said in a recent Facebook post.
The administration has stressed that in order to accurately register their marital status, these people should attend NADRA facilities as soon as possible.
The updating procedure is a component of NADRA’s continuous endeavor to keep citizen data current and correct.
Additionally, NADRA has introduced an SMS service to provide married residents with this information.
The NADRA helpdesk is where citizens may get further information or advice.
By visiting the official website [www.nadra.gov.pk](http://www.nadra.gov.pk) or calling NADRA’s hotline at 1777 (for mobile users) or 051-111-786-100, citizens can get further information or advice.
In Pakistan, NADRA charges Rs. 100 to update a CNIC’s marital status.
The modification falls under the category of “unprintable alteration.” When seeking the adjustment, applicants must provide pertinent documentation, such as a marriage certificate or Nikahnama, depending on their situation.
